*gasp* The psychological part of this thriller is unsettling! You have to watch til the end to unlock the juiciness. However, if you pay attention, you may be able to put the puzzle together before the end. Great actors, even little Tyler Howitt! Lots of back and forth with the present, past and in between so you have to pay attention. If you do this, the foreshadowing details and the ending reward you with a beautiful, yet super unsettling, plot. This is not a show to play in the background or multitask while watching. The key to watching this series is paying attention, if not you’ll end giving it one star.

The first episode is captivating. The acting and thrill really brings you in, and episode two causes the viewer to wonder what happens next. Episode 3 and 4 let me know I was wasting my time. Unfortunately, there are many plot holes. Things that are seemingly “clues” or “cues” from episodes one and two are never revisited. Even though Colman Domingo had swag and good style, he didn’t have any onscreen chemistry with his wife or kids. It was strange. There was more chemistry between and the FBI detective and the widowed lady. For me a better plot for “The Madness” would be that Muncie goes out to the woods to write his book, strange things start happening and every time he wakes up there is a different situation happening where he is racially profiled and no one really ever believes him. He even ends up in a mental health facility, but in the end it was all just a dream of dreams that he uses to pop off his writing career. Unfortunately, that’s not the plot. The ending was anticlimactic. The writing and the culture of the series were not a good fit.

Pure white supremacy at its finest. All the non-black/non-mixed race folks targeted the Black French people right from the start. Talked down to them and blamed them for their misfortune. The white males controlled and used the women and I can’t believe they fell for it. They targeted the non-dominant males and belittled females they thought were unattractive. It was like watching high school all over. I feel bad for Clemence, Oliviani, and Dypsy. Y’all didn’t deserve that.

Who isn’t here for a Black “Marvel” in 2024?! Major props to Rapman for writing, directing and producing this amazing work of art! This is more than just drama as Netflix labels it, it’s a top-notch Sci-Fi, Action, Thriller and major social commentary! The main cast is giving all-star performances! Shout out to Eric Kofi Abrefa!! Abrefa’s been killing it lately playing UK-based and US-based roles, dare I say it’s “KRAZY!” I can’t wait to binge the next season!! The only hard part for me was latching on to all the characters as they were being introduced in Episode One, but once you grasp the five individual plots, it all comes together like a masterpiece! The opening scenes for Episodes 3 and 6, were so excellent and well done!! (Chef’s kiss) I see award season coming on heavy for this series!
