The characters are unintelligent and make stupid decisions all throughout the series. As an Octavia Butler lover, I can honestly say the writing in this series angered me. Dana tells her Aunt while they’re in the hospital, who already thinks she’s crazy, that her mother is alive and she mysteriously gets transported to the past. Dana waltzes straight into the plantation owner’s library and starts reading like she’s on a field trip and she hasn’t been advised of the dangers of reading. I can’t…
