This movie is incredible for its perception on humanity's obsession with true crime. As someone who is very interested in true crime, this movie has reminded me to be careful and respectful with what I choose for entertainment, since these aren't just scary stories thought up on some dark and stormy night. It's stuff that affects real people in some of the most unimaginably horrible ways. Serial Mom is definitely a dark comedy, and although I found it enjoyable, it also made me think, which is a really hard feat for a comedy movie to pull off. Matthew Lillard and Kathleen Turner are such treasures.

A solid movie, but not spectacular. A pretty cliche story, but I like the themes of rejecting social norms and being who you wanna be. Mae Whitman is perfect for this role. Ken Jeong was really funny in this movie (I find it funny how the majority of the bloopers in the end credits are him, he's really a treat) and the actresses who played Jess and Casey are awesome as well. This movie was SUPER cliche in that high school movie way where it really isn't much like high school at all, which is strange considering that the original book was written by an actual 17 year old. It's painfully obvious that they tried to be relevant to 2015 pop culture, but I wish they had tried to be less trendy and more unique with their humor.
