Had seen the historical Hindi film " Chaava" .As a student of history and a avid traveller / trekker have visited most of the Maratha Forts in Maharashtra before retiring from mountain treks. Maratha guerilla warfare was excellently depicted in this film although with a little bit of Bollywood extravaganza.Akshaye.Khanna as Emperor Aurangzeb was in a different league of acting as was Vicky .Kaushal as Chhatrapatti Shambhaji.A must watch movie for students of history although there has been some protests and controversy by ancestors of two historical Maratha men who are depicted as traitors in this movie.The film has extreme violence and the torture of Shambhaji at the hands of the Mughals and Aurangzeb is violence at its worst.I had viewed this film in Plaza theatre in Dadar in Mumbai and at the end of the film a young lady recited a lengthy patriotic poem which was followed by a young man also reciting a patriotic poem.This film has aroused Maratha patriotism and a roaring blockbuster financial success.

With the " BULLS" of Bombay Stock Exchange in I.C.U decided to chase away my sorrows by seeing the movie " FATEH" on the first day show at Rs 100 at Plaza Talkies in Dadar.After ages saw a orgy of well choreographed indescribable violence on the screen and hence the " A" tag for the movie.A documentary style James Bond film on Cyber Crime in India that is authentically scary than the violence depicted in this film.

Was thrilled to read the first and only authentic semifictional biography of the affairs and conduction of horse racing at one of the most scenic racecourse in the World.Mr Berjis .Desai has written a absolute thriller while also explaining the deep underbelly of corruption that does occasionally happen in horse racing as in any other sport or a business where " BIG MONEY" is concerned.The " SEX" masala in this novel would make the Indian Queen of " High Society" bedroom voyeurism Shoba De blush with envy.This novel is mandatory reading for Indian horse racing enthusiasts and something different for those not involved in the sport.As a fan of Dick Francis,the " Agatha.Christie" of horse racing mysteries I could rate Mr Berjis.Desai's novel " Murder at the racecourse" as one of the best thrillers of 2024 from a Indian author.The " Indian Derby" is in the first week of Feb 2025 and this novel explains Indian horseracing and very relevant.

For the superstitious this film is bad as it encourages prejudices against cruelty to animals . Didn't feel bored for a minute and the climax was a real twist to this horror classic.Ahoy !

"CORONAVIRUS WORLD WAR- 3 LOCKDOWN " un 2020 has kept people all over the World confined indoors and for me a chance to get back to my film addiction.A a big fan of Sherlock Holmes having even visited the " SHERLOCK HOLMES MUSEUM" in London in 2010 never knew that films were produced on Arthur Conan Doyle Novels way back in 1940;s during World War-2 .Stumbled onto this excellent 1943 film and as usual didn't disappoint either in suspense or authenticity of locale and sets of the 1940's.Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. John Watson have set the method of acting for future generation of actors playing the role.A excellent film that could be relevant in any era or generation as MONEY makes the Mare/Horse run. Ahoy !

Something different watching this film in original black & white as also getting a peep into 1940's society and lifestyle.Excellent film as are all Arthur Conan Doyle novels made into films.Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. John Watson have set the method of acting for future generation of actors playing the role.Hillary Brooke as Lydia Marlowe and Henry Daniell as Professor Moriarty are excellent in their villainous roles.

A entertaining film with the Director trying a "KICHDI Hindi/English mix)" of James Bond & Zanjeer (Original Film) but failing at the Box Office. Ram Charan(Inspector Vijay Khanna) similarity to Daniel.Craig is unmistakable as also the Villain Teja(Telegu actor Prakash Raj) with his signature "MEOOW" to the traditional Persian cat's of James Bond arch rival villain, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Otherwise a excellent film exposing the "OIL MAFIA" of Mumbai which was and is a reality akin to drugs which is the Hero's (Ram Charan) next mission after executing Teja. Honestly Sanjay.Dutt replaying Pran's role of "Sher Khan"in the original Zanjeer was a poor take but TEJA definitely saved the film from total disaster. Never ever try remaking a claqssic hit original film like "ZANJEER" , better would have been a sequel .Ahoy !
