I own the 1975 edition of The Art of Walt Disney, and I'll have to say, it's not just a great coffee table book, it is also an amazing read in general, whether for nostalgia or for historical reference.
Christopher Finch traverses through the life of Walt Disney, the filmography and history of the Walt Disney corporation, and the history of Disneyland and (the new!) Walt Disney World (before EPCOT even opened) in 260 pages of unaltered information, while at the same time only providing personal opinions based on historical and moral analysis.
I'd definitely recommend The Art of Walt Disney to anybody, whether for nostalgia, historical reference, education, something for the never-used bookshelf or coffee table, or for anyone just wanting to read something new. It's the first, all be it one of the best, Disney historical books I know.
