Its the first movie I've ever watched where lgbtq people didn't just drop dead or commit suicide or get murdered. We actually got a happy ending and the found family that they deserve. It gave me hope in a really dark time and it was very much ahead of its time. I can only hope that as time goes on it gets the recognition it deserves.
