The movie has moments of brilliance but they are far outweighed by the mediocrity in writing, acting and editing. The movie is choppy, disjointed and lacks any genuine feeling. Not for a moment do you feel connected with the male lead - who resembles more of a spoiled, entitled brat from Gossip girl. The only genuine moments in the movie are during the few interactions between Naseeruddin Shah and Deepika's characters. Overall nice attempt but fails due to lack of genuine writing and direction.

Thanks to covid I got to watch the show and it's entirety over the last couple of weeks. Given the hype I expected this show to have grounded, genuine and funny characters - it had none of them. Zooey Deschanel's character is arguably one of the most self-centered and narcissistic characters for a modern sitcom. There was nothing related about her and I can't seem to understand why they made an entire show around her and did not develop some of the other characters such as Schmidt. She seems to live in her own world, and disregard the feelings the expectations and the considerations of every anyone around her and then the show forces you to like a character like that. The chemistry between Jess and Nick is absent throughout the series. They refuse to communicate with each other and that goes on for 7 seasons. are we expected to believe that a relationship founded on two people who cannot communicate their feelings or their desires to each other are going to have a lasting relationship? The development of the remaining cast the show is Hollow and lack any depth. I'm still trying to understand the height behind the show. Every episode is repetitive where Jess is in her own dream world and things that everything can be solved through song and dance. There are no attributes to this character that drowns her and at one point it just got annoying and irritating. I had to skip through episodes so I can get through the show and that to me is not indicative of what a good comedy should show. There are better sitcoms out there from Brooklyn Nine-Nine to It's always Sunny in Philadelphia there are many shows that one should pick over this one.
