So starting off, I’ve been playing Call of duty since World at War came out in 2008, and let mr say first that by no means am i a competitive player, I’m just playing to have fun. That being said this game does have some good things to offer.
The new zombies mode, is a surprisingly fresh take on the game mode with a ton of nee features and options likes load-outs, kill-streaks, and even boss fights, but they released a sixty dollar game with one map after they spent months hyping this mode up. Excited for more maps but very tired of DIE Maschine since its the only thing to do if you’re not in the mood for multiplayer.
The multiplayer is what it is, virtually another “all new movement” set, which feels exactly the same every 3 years or so. The guns are fine, and the skins are ok but the maps are mostly boring with (in my opinion) the only standout map being Satellite. I mean come on how lazy do they have to be? Nuketown 24/7 has been a playlist now for 3 weeks straight and I’m willing to bet it will be until after christmas. I mean that map has only been recycled for what 7 years now? Oh but don’t worry its got graffiti now🙄.
The campaign was fun with some missions feeling more complete than others. Honestly just kinda played through it while watching tv so i don't have any real strong opinions here except for the fact that it runs like absolute dick. Sorry not sorry. I get they wanna show off all their new volumetric light options but when it gets in the way of the storytelling on my high end PC, it starts to make you think if they actually care about the gameplay or if they just wanna charge you $60 again this year even though it looks completely identical to Modern Warfare (which even now i have had no performance issues with).
I guess I’ll wrap it up. If your a fan its a playable game, i think objectively this game feels lazy and uninspired. Never before did I feel like they just booted up an old game had the designers take a few hits of acid and just retexture their map from 2011. Hoping that updates will fix the performance issues but as of now the game simply feels like an incomplete rush job by Treyarch.
