Objectively, this movie was terrible, it featured mostly terrible writing and undermined the initial trilogy, was hard to follow and had shocking cinematography. Subjectively, this movie was fine, 3 stars at most, it featured some great fight scenes and had comedic bits with C-3PO, however it had some moments which confusing and weird such as Rose even being in this movie and Palpatine even existing. Rise of Skywalker manages to convey a reasonable plot but takes the 1st and 2nd act to do so, it references the haldo manoeuvre and then dismisses it without a good explanation, it could have done without things like (spoiler) Kylo ren's death and Leia entirely with the former being, although symbolic, completely unnecessary. the endless fan service was tiring however, the movie maker wipes between scenes were amusing. the new storm troopers and sith troopers made the last and first order both fresh and interesting. overall this movie was fine but when you add in stupid things that never existed before and make the main character suddenly able to control the force to a higher level then the highly trained kylo ren the movie starts to devolve into madness. I would recommend this movie to star wars fans and watchers of the first to movies in the trilogy aswell as people who are high and looking for a laugh.
