I absolutely loved the original animated move as well as the Broadway production, both of which I've seen numerous times. I had high expectations for this latest telling of the story, unfortunately I was disappointed. Visually many scenes were absolutely stunning but emotionally this installment fell short of its predecessors. Even the injection of Beyonce's song felt like it was something the studio execs had to agree to in order to get her to agree to participate. The song didn't really add anything of significance to the movie. I'm glad that I saw it but probably won't bother watching it again.
