Really good acting through out, great sub-plots, but poor main plot. We see tonnes of scenes and detail about our main characters, which is good. Even their midnight ghost stories are entertaining. However, these are just things that should work to establish and maintain the main storyline.
Unfortunately, the main story is setup, dragged in the mud and then dropped.
I would have accepted the cliff hanger ending, if you can even call it that, but those sorts of endings only work in films no longer than a couple of hours, not a series that's span upwards of 10 hours.
Good storytelling should reward the listener. If I had known this was not actually a spooky supernatural story with rewarding results, and was more of an emotional cry-fest that offered little more than dying people trying to come to terms with death (truely bleak), I probably would not have bothered, as this was not what was advertised to me.
