The story is based on a ridiculous premise, but a good excuse for some feel good nostalgia. Anyone who grew up with the Beatles loves their songs no matter which way they come. But the story line left me feeling a bit empty. It just didn't make much sense. I am a great Richard Curtis fan. His scripts are usually so wonderfully tight. Every line has meaning. But this one let me down a bit. The love story was more like La La Land. Overall the positives outweighed the negatives, and I enjoyed the movie, but I would only score it in the sixes. For me it was nothing like Notting Hill, Love Actually, etc.
