Not a diehard Slipknot fan but enjoy the heavier material. A few songs on the album are decent but the wall of sound around the raw elements is too much. I miss the 'in your face' punch of the drums and aggressive breakdowns. This album is way overdone as far as mixing in what should otherwise be background noise to enhance the thickness of what Slipknot is known for. That being said, I can't tell if it's that alone or just the fact that Slipknot is writing what sounds like B side tracks off of prior albums. Easy forgettable material but expectations on a Slipknot album are high.
