Important that the other side of the story is told and this tells the personal story of innocent people being murdered. A friend, (who would describe himself as kind) when he first heard of the massacre replied to my "Wasn't it awful what happened?" with "Yes but..." and continued to explain why it was justified. But then sadly, I am certain that he would never watch this movie.

Yes this excellent movie is about race and reflects how black people had to ensure terribly racist attitudes. But this movie is also about class. How intelligent, capable but less educated people from the lower classes had to struggle against social norms and privelege to try to step up - one step - maybe two. My parents grew up in 1920's Ireland where children didn't even have shoes and wealthy landowners could throw a whole family into the street if they couldn't afford the rent. My grandparents stepped up,just a little. My parents, one more step. That's what I feel this movie encapsulates. That and the fact that whichever system people exist in, some try to keep you down, some are learning and there is always kindness from some.

About 10 minutes in I went back to see when this movie was made - 2009. I knew it had to be at least 10 years old because a movie exploring ideas such as these, in this way, would never be made any more. Excellent acting. Genuine characterisation. Marvellous depiction of a time when honest, decent but unsophisticated people could be easily fooled. Enjoy.

Gripping WW2 drama. The first half shows us Germany from the point of view of the Nazis. In the second half we follow the resistance as they seek to destroy a monster. Harrowing. You feel you are there.

If you want 2 hours of misery, misery, misery and more misery - this movie is for you. My wife loved it! I played on my phone for 2 hours.

Excellent movie. I didn't look at the cast before watching and looked up the main character half way through to see who it was. Johnny Depp! I had no idea. Hope Heard hasn't sunk his career because, like Pitt and Brando, he can become a completely different person. Slow starter but still worth 5 stars.

Usual crazy neighbour stuff which was going OK but the script ran out of ideas and ended up silly. More of a TV movie. 2 stars because I did get to the end - just!

Slick film about vacuous, shallow, amoral middle class people trying to destroy each other. Within an hour I really couldn't care less what happened to either of them because they were both extremely nasty. Didn't bother seeing the end - didn't bother looking it up - because I really didn't care!

Slow, ponderous, dull, trite, illogical. You keep watching, hoping eventually something interesting will happen. Nope! I think Clooney had something 'worthy' in mind but apart from 'What have we done to our planet?' even that is unclear.
