Movie was great. Movie theme song written and sung by Mitchum, and the movie written, produced, and directed by him. Created as a true story of returning war vets who took to “running (driving) shine” to make money since jobs were hard to find “in the sticks/mountains”. Many famous drivers led double lives until track racing took off. Racing their hot cars at local fairs and tracks which grew into NASCAR.
