The one star that I have awarded for this movie is out of pity.
I loved the first movie and convinced my partner that ‘we must pay £16 to rent the film! You’ll love it ‘ - five minutes in we just sidewards glanced at eachother.
I felt the 80s styling was off. I’m guessing they were trying to modernise the 80s or something. Chuck in a leotard, heels and leggings and we should be good to go?? Why was Chris Pine not recognising a rubbish bin? His ‘oh wow’ remarks were cringe worthy. Also - hello??.. 1. Fireworks have been around for centuries and 2. When was it suddenly NYE?
The plot was weak and the film seemed cheap. Especially the shopping mall scene - it lost all my respect from that point forward.
I’d love to comment on the rest of the film - but I fell asleep soon after the bad guy wished to be a rock.
I woke up this morning and said ‘how bad was that film??!’ My partner replied ‘please don’t remind me - I’m trying to forget - what a waste of money.’
I’m really disappointed as I was a massive fan of the first one. The sequel could have been so much better!! It made good, or reasonable actors, appear to be terrible ones. I don’t know how any other reviewers enjoyed it.
