TLDR; An immersive albeit short story supported by fun somewhat useful elements that add to the mayhem of the game situated on a gorgeous island nation.
I haven't played a Far Cry title since the late release of Far Cry 3 with a childhood friend playing through that glorious campaign twice. This title spoke to that nostalgic story-driven feeling that I look for in Triple-A Title games. The cast behind the story was fantastic, the voice acting was top-notch and the graphics to immerse oneself into that world were breathtaking. After gushing over the dip into the world of Yara playing as Dani in the Guerilla takeover, I can say that the game felt too easy. I wish that there was a bit more challenge though that could have just been my approach to the game that made it so (e.g. silent hitman on every FND controlled location). Most of the features that were supposed to make this game "unique" from other titles didn't feel all that useful; although that doesn't take away from the game it doesn't deliver on the impact those elements could have had. Although I can't comment on the co-op story element of the game, the spec-ops missions were a blast to play with random people in the queue can't wait for more missions to be added!
