Overall it's a watchable movie, but if you are expecting Jothika to shine, you will be very disappointed. She has ONE facial expression throughout the movie and it is clear that she was trying to create an impression about her character. Doesn't work. The best performance comes from Sathyaraj. Karthi is as usual. The other notable performance is by Sowcar Janaki who acts with her eyes. Otherwise, Thambi has lots and lots of growing up to do, but we don't have the patience for that.

And I thought Kaala and Petta were bad, till I watched Darbar. Face it, this is not Moondru Mugam and he is not Alex Pandian. That Rajini is gone. Donning khaki today makes him look like a security guard. The Chummakili song is good, but the picturization is shoddy. The villain? What a washout. Overall, for all the hype it created, has turned out to be another disappointment. Film makers today should make movies for today's Rajini, not try to recreate the 80s and 90s Rajini.

I just watched in on Netflix. Turned out to be a regular revenge based movie. Stale factor #1. The man is 69, so trying to show him like a 29 year old is a bad idea. One can see Rajini is trying so hard to look and act young and youthful but it doesn't work. Plus he doesn't and never had the physique to justify this much of muscle flexing Stale factor #2. Simran has been wasted. So is Trisha. Music is okay. Overall a disappointment, which is becoming common with Rajini nowadays. Kabali, Kaala, 2.0 were all Duds. Petta joins the list.
