There's something bittersweet about this anime. It is unforgettable and truly would stay with me in my lifetime. With this movie, it sealed as one of my most favorite anime, ever. Violet Evergarden: The Movie would touch you in the deepest way possible more than in your heartstrings but in your memories and in your soul. I had a sleepless night after watching the movie contemplating what had made me ponder it too much. And it is rare for an anime to make me feel this way. Is it Violet and Gilbert's love story? Is it their enduring love that defied death? Or the longing to say the words to someone you love in a way that the other person reaches it? And for the endless, vain wait for that someone to finally see what our heart is, that its calling that one person. There's pain but also a relief. Also the story of Yuri and Ann is beautifully written it also put tears in my eyes and made me cry like a child. There is something in this movie (and anime overall) that takes you back to your "raw-est" self to be authentic and to just freely cry with no shame because it feels the most natural thing to feel. Their love is enduring, it is unconditional and it's beautiful. I could write forever about this anime but that's for now. Should you watch it? Definitely.
