Cassevetes was a genius and Falk and Rowlands are amazing in an uncomfortable to watch gem of a film.

This remake of a great original is just shy of equaling the 1957 black and white Glenn Ford gem and Christian Bale is not a perfect fit for this role but if you haven’t seen the original you’ll likely enjoy it thoroughly. If the 1957 version didn’t exist this would have received all five stars.

This is a tough movie to watch due to its unabashed violence and visceral cinematography but I’d say Casey Affleck and Christian Bale combine to make this an absolute gem of a film. It’s not a great date night flick but for the boys it’s a must see.

True Story: I take my sixteen year old son to see it in SLC and after it’s finished I turn to him and say “that’s your Oscar winner for Best Picture.” And this was months prior to the Oscars without even seeing three of tge other nominations.

One of the top ten films in my quiver. It’s wonderful and horribly sad.

Almost impossible to believe that a living human being actually;y edited this monster of a torture film. Granted there is more gore and blood that in a slaughterhouse, but the cinematography is so ridiculously dark that one can only make out shadows in many places. Nicole Kidman must have been tripping not he same mushrooms that the poor protagonist ate to have taken part in this beast that is hard to watch with anything in one's stomach. Really I recommend this as a dare. See if you can watch the whole thing. I dare you. Its that challenging.

This is a wonderfully funny show that’s sharply written and executed thankfully without a laugh track. The plot is spot on, tackling the very real problem of underfunded public schools in the major city of Philly but it does so in a way that’s truly funny which is amazing. Hard not to completely love. Congrats to the writer!

Fantastic movie on perseverance and singleminded determination. And in the end he gets the girl. What more could anyone want?

A well written comedy / period appropriate ultra violence Series sure to bring laughs to Monty Python fans and just about anyone else who has ever been a fan of historically inappropriate humor. Great concept and fans were rightly appalled that Netflix cancelled the fourth season. Original, fresh and damn humorous.

Easily moved into my top five war films of all time. Riveting, great cinematography, wonderful acting by a cast of young sons of older stars with Caleb Jones once again demonstrating his talent as one of the finest actors of his generation, and if not for covid would have been an Oscar favorite. You can’t be a fan of war films and not love this movie.
