Astonishing arc; one of HBO's very best in years. Now the gothic finale has come and gone and we finally have the full, ghastly birdseye view: You either (1) compromise with the narcissistic, uncaring lotus-eaters who have all of the power and all of whom end up a little better (compromisers Alexandra Daddario and Brittany O'Grady) or (2) you end up stiffed (business hopeful Natasha Rothwell and Hawaiians generally), or in prison (Kekoa Kekumano), or dead (we all know who by now), or (3) you make a run for it (Fred Hechinger). I've grinned all day at this. So much precision writing and acting led us to it. Murray Bartlett, Brittany O'Grady, Natasha Rothwell, and Kekoa Kekumano among others were great minions. Jake Lacy, Jennifer Coolidge, Steve Zahn, Connie Britton, Molly Shannon and Sydney Sweeney were great plutocrats. Alexandra Daddario and Fred Hechinger were great rogue elements. Best cast ever.
