The novel's opening pages are gripping and we'll written but it's basically downhill for the rest of the novel. The protagonist experiences a range of life changing encounters and characters but they are very clichéd and predictable. The ending is so far fetched it's almost like the author couldn't find a authentic resolution and went instead for the quickest happiest ending. The novel does however fill a void in the trans teen novels and would help those struggling with this complex situation.

If you are a fan of the director's style and film noir you will enjoy this film. Fabulous production design, great as script and excellent cast. The two and a half hours flashed by for me.
