I don't think it's as good as ATLA, I only wanted to watch it because it was an Avatar sequel. I think the thing that got me was that almost everyone from ATLA was dead. Rumor has it, they used the funding for a 4th season of ATLA to make Legend of Korra, I think they should've stuck with their original plan.
