I watched the entire series and the only relationship to the books is a couple of the characters names I read the blurb by the producers trying to excuse/explain their changes to the book. There is no way they can ever convince me that Anne Rice was ok with merging Michael and Aaron into one character. There are three main characters that go throughout all three books and no author is going to be ok with wiping out a main character. And why try to tell the whole story in 8 episodes? That is silly. Write a good story for a first piece of the first book to a natural chapter end and stop. I would rather have an unfinished story than a butchered story. And why do TV/movie producers always think that the written story isn't good enough for TV/movies? Clearly the story became a best seller because people loved the the story as it was. It didn't need the producers improvements. This would go over better with the readers if they took out from the credits that it is based on Anne Rice's Mayfair witches'. Just don't claim it is based on anything then we wouldn't be so upset.
