The reception for this movie is an example for the saying "they hate what they don't understand". This movie is one of the epic, best, dark, complex ,intense superhero clash movies in the present era. Especially how the events draw both legendary superheroes of all time pitched against each other into an epic battle scene. The background music is phenomenal merging us into the darkness of the battle. It's also very depressing that the reception to other superhero movies is greater where the stories are too simple to understand without having complex elements , less intensity, made mainly for entertainment and fun than this movie in which everything is engineered in a way in order to bring the dilemma and a clash.

One of very special movies I have ever seen and this movie must have got much much higher rating than it got , courtesy of "~ very good critics" . Paul bettany was amazing in his role of archangel michael, the only hope Humanity has. I don't know the reason for low ratings of this movie but it's many times better than overrated movies like Evil dead 1981. Although it looks like the wrath of the god is only pertained to the hotel and surroundings ,the movie is very strong and unique in how it portrayed god and angels , very creative in a supernatural sense with an intense narrative by Bettany throughout the movie, though some people may have judged it with their perception of a holy book or an imaginary ever loving sky daddy
