Like so many movies made from books, the book is better again. The casting was generally excellent, especially Marisa Tomei as Maggie McFierce. Matthew McConaghy's twang, however, interfered with his otherwise good performance. Couldn't the lead have voiced the Los Angeles borne and bred Mickey Haller without the long, drawn out syllables? Actors are always imitating other accents; was McConaghy not up to the challenge. I just cannot recommend.
