They butchered it I have always liked the 1966 cartoon because the nostalgia and that they hit the mark. It completely shows the essence of what Dr. Suess intended for the grinch to be in his book. Jim Carreys movie was annoying and bad, but at least they made Cindy Lou a quiet girl who had compassion for the grinch. And the Grinch had a spiritual metamorphosis in change of character after he realises the whos didnt need the presents and lights for christmas; just eachother. But the new movie Cindy Lou is a loud mouth, who is hardly concerned with the grinch at all. And the grinch was just changed because of unnecessary backstory that made him less of a grinch and morely a misunderstood loner who had no big metamorphosis. It felt more like a spectactle then a meaningful feel good movie. All out it was a shallow movie that missed the point of the grinch.
