SPOILERS: I give the game 2 stars because this game does a lot to force you as the player to emphasize with Abby, a character that was created because of an NPC character from part 1 who was killed by Joel during his attempt to rescue Ellie. Several plot holes and a lot of attempts to show that women can be "strong and brave" and can do what men can do. We don't need so much of that. I don't know who the hell said women can't be strong characters in games. We have great examples already, so why create a woman that doesn't even look like a female? This lady is jacked, in a post apocalyptic world, not even the men look this way in the game. Oh and they have a sex scene that is VERY unnecessary and confused many gamers. Look at Pewdiepie for an example. TLOU 1 did an incredible job building up characters Joel and Ellie in a beautiful father/daughter relationship, which is quickly put to an end within the first 2 hours of the game because Abby, (the daughter of the NPC character who had no name to begin with) wanted revenge. This game revolves around violence and poor decisions, hidden agendas that are forced upon you as the gamer. I didn't appreciate how they killed off Joel, they could have done it in several other ways, but somehow this was justified. I will say the gameplay is great, it's improved since the last game, and the environment looks great but the story is what captivated several of us in part 1, sadly, that wasn't what they were going for this time. Naughty Dog just wanted to pander to the alphabet people and force their ideologies upon you. Oh, I already mentioned that? Well, so do they every hour of the game. You also play as Abby longer than you play as Ellie, again, this is an attempt to force the player to emphasize, feel bad for and justify her actions. It worked for some people, but not all. I don't agree with the plot of the story, it's incredibly poor and just irrelevant right now. This all started because of a virus, and the story revolved around it. Now, we get this boring, terribly planned and awful story. Ellie loses far more than Abby, how is this a revenge story Neil said it would be? It's not. Ellie loses her father, friends, relationship, and the ability to play a guitar Joel taught her to play. It's terrible. The game is getting a lot of heat, and for good reason. It isn't good. I think it's a 5/10 at best. But a 2/5 star for this review. What good is a game with great game mechanics and visuals if the story is garbage? I'm seeing so many friends of mine playing the game for a couple of minutes, and moving onto an older game they used to play. I'm used to seeing friends binge playing new games for weeks, and this isn't the case for this video game. You can't give this game a bad review without being called a homophobe, misogynistic, or transphobic because there is a trans character in this game. I mean... wow Naughty Dog. What in the world were you thinking? They removing poor ratings on purpose, and keeping the good ones. Doesn't that make this suspicious to any of you? They're trying so hard to keep the real and honest negative opinions from being seen or heard. It's insane. I can't believe any of this.
