Genuinely had much higher expectations. What the movie does well is feed the masses with a typical Marvel-esque Superhero movie (which WB is incapable of executing properly) and provides 2:30hrs of entertainment for the dumbed down audiences. While the story is good, it relies on audiences not wanting to think to much and in turn instead of providing a consistent narrative, uses deux ex machina to solve all the problems away. Improper usage of soundtracks is also an issue where at a climatic scene one would expect Wonder Woman's theme to play, the Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice theme abruptly begins which is a really jarring experience. Cheetah's character design is unsatisfactory though Maxwell Lord has a well implemented character arch. It must however be noted that neither character follows through with their comic counterparts' backstories, and neither is remotely inspired by them. Diana herself does not go through any character development and though seeing her discover new abilities is fun to watch, leaves a lot to be desired on her own personality development arch. All in all, having watched it once is one too many chances I have given WB for making Superhero movies. Perhaps it simply isn't the right era for DC to grace the big screen in true glory.
