Fairly good novel. The novel tells the story of alienation and repression through the numerous ideological mechanisms under late capitalism. In fact, this novel shows the connections between private lives and modes of production, the latter affecting the essence of the former. A realistic mode of narration has been adopted to pinpoint the real problems of our time, as interpreted by Franzen. A good novel to read once for sure.
