My wife and I have watched every episode of every season. We like the casual feel of the show and appreciate that the contestants are normal people, amateurs without egos. In past seasons we enjoyed learning about baking techniques and the origins and histories of different baked goods, though the show has given up much of that this season in favor of gimmicks. Paul and Prue are interesting judges with good insight, though I'd like to hear more details about their critiques. The hosts are completely superfluous and actually detract from the show. You wouldn't interrupt a standup comedy routine every few minutes to demonstrate a cake recipe, so why disrupt a baking show with inane, senseless banter that is merely annoying? The show would be better off without them. The strength of the show is the contestants and cheering for them.
