No Name No Name

I’m having a very hard time understanding the rules to these zombies. Midway through the first episode we follow a female zombie and apparently zombies can jog? I’ve never heard of a zombie trying to conserve its energy by jogging, instead of straight up running, but okay, werid. She also actively looks for victims rather than aimlessly wandering towards sounds and movement. These zombies seem a bit too human and therefore hard to take seriously. This women is whipping her head around left and right and going after doors, even a fence door which hardly even look like a door to begin with. Not sure how a zombie happened to know it was a door when it looked just like any other part of the fence. I have so many questions right now, like was Patrick bitten or did he die of an injury? Or was their another zombie in the house, that turned him? I hope these will be answered. So far, I’m not very invested in the story or people and I’m already 30 mins in. Another weird thing about these zombies, as best seen in season 1 ep 8, zombies will not attck a person if another Zombie happens to already attacking that person. HOWEVER! In the dinner ep, we clearly saw both of the zombies attacking the one injured guy, who was thrown out of the restaurant, which contradicts this. Honestly, I don’t know what is going on with these zombies. Zombies don’t seem to be lured by sound, unless it happens to be used in the narrative (like the women knocking on the dinner window, to intentionally attract the zombies). People seem to make as much noise as they want and nothing happens. There are noises constantly happening around, yet a zombie won’t go towards it. I think the zombies might be more sight based but still, this is werid. Zombies apparently know how reflections work, as seen in season 2 ep 1. They don’t attack their own reflections or the reflections of uninfected people, but will whip around to look for the person they saw in the reflection. That’s some high intelligence for a zombie. Zombies don’t stop to eat. They attack heathly humans, but for honestly no reason, it seems. They are shown to bite but never eat a body, or tare chunks. Maybe they attack because the person is moving, rather than for food? Idk. This whole show is werid. Spoiler: The only three characters I even remotely cared about was scrappy Sun, heroic Julian/Spears, and the mom. Everyone else was forfeit. It’s a good thing too, because they were the only survivors. Season 2: Got to say, it’s pretty hard to figure out who is who, at times. It’s also hard to figure out what’s going on, when they have these big fights, in the dark, and all I want to do is turn up the brightness and try to figure out what the heck is going on. Unfortunately there is no option for brightness on Netflix, which sucks. Anyways, I really wish all these chapters with just play out an order sometimes. It can be pretty confusing. Maybe it’s just me. I wish each character had a clearer indication of who they were. Also that first chapter was just a mess and didn’t intrigue me in the slightest. I suppose they showed it to capture the audiences attention but it was just confusing and frustrating as hell in my opinion.

Maybe it is better in it’s native language instead of with English dub, but I wouldn’t know. Right off the bat, this movie takes me out of the experience with the dumb way that the infected people (the girl outside and the man in the main character’s apartment), randomly whip their heads around as they turn. Second thing, to take me out of the movie, is when one zombie kills another. From a virus transmission standpoint, killing other zombies, would lessen the spread of transmission, and therefore be the virus’s eventual downfall. I’ve only watched the first 11 minutes of this movie, and I am already, deeply uninterested in watching more, but I’ll dredge on and change my review if anything worth wild happens.

Really surprised about the high rating Rotten Tomatoes gave it. I thought they were more reliable than this. The movie is like a one big mash up of other movies, from the cheesy dialogue, obvious plot, the dumb little movie into that shows fake cave paintings and ancient art of King Kong and Godzilla. The whole thing couldn’t be any more cliché or predictable than it is. This movie does nothing new or mind blowing. It’s just unimpressive all the way through. The little bit of fighting was at least someone entertaining, also kind of nonsensical. I give it 2.5-3 stars

Wow this movie... it’s super out of character but that’s what makes it kind of enduring. It seems to focus mainly on laughs. Laurence Luckinbill as Sybok, has to be my favorite character. He just seems like a really fun and endearing guy. For some reason I like this movie, despite being a pretty harsh movie critic and a big fan of Star Trek. I saw the negative reviews and decided to give it a watch anyway. It’s fun, silly, and doesn’t feel canon or like it should taken seriously. I highly suggest people watch it for the charismatic acting and jokes. For anyone looking for a classic deep plot, you should avoid the movie.

I read someone say this movie was bad, but the animation and commercial, had me want to give it the benefit of the doubt. While the last movies had been pretty darn disappointing, I really had my hopes that the writers would pull together and prove that they could make a half decent movie, something somewhere close to the first spongebob movie, or wildly much better. I was wrong. Oh so horribly wrong. This movie is a fast paced nightmare with so many plot holes. It's just bad. I was expecting a charming story about how Spongebob met Gary, but instead we get this rushed garbage.

I had some hopes for an interesting action show when I saw the trailer but the show is boring, cheesy, predictable, and relies too hard on jokes in tropes that aren’t even funny or interesting. Pretty sure this show is aimed at really young children, who don’t care for good writing. Seriously, not once have I laughed or cared for a single character because they are all so incredibly uninteresting or relatable. Whenever the show has the slightest opportunity for an interesting plot line, they double it down several notches. Evil Adorabat with a super powered mouth beam, would have been interesting, had they not downplayed it as throwing really weak insults at others.

As a child, I suffered from depression. I still do, but now I take medication for it. Cartoons were supposed to be a way for me to escape from the painful thoughts in my head, but Invader Zim only encouraged them. The gore, pointless deaths, and disgusting imagery would only stimulate my already stong fear of death. The brutal killings and abuse in Invader Zim, only emphasized how worthless life was in the show and it aired on television during a fragile time when I felt that real life had no meaning or purpose. I wish this show had never been aired for childen.
