It was my first time watching a Korean drama and I enjoyed it a great deal. The story is well narrated and all the characters performed exceptionally well. To a certain degree, the film is relatable. I can't imagine how emotionally exhausting shooting this film must have been on the actors especially Dr. Ji since she's the one who had the most emotionally difficult scenes. But overall, all of them executed their storylines very well.
However, it seems to me that their storylines were dominated by a lot of lengthy negative scenes. I mean, happy moments are minimal and short-lived. I also feel like the storyline between Dr. Ji and her estranged husband was prolonged unnecessarily. At some point when I was watching the film, I felt like Dr. Ji was just circling in the same place with no hope of breaking through and finally get to move on with her life just like her friend Go Ye-rim. The seemingly unbreakable attachment of Dr. Ji to Lee Tae-ooh seems to give a false impression of marriage. I think that what they are going through is an exaggerated view of divorce.
I don't seem to get the message the story writers are trying to communicate with the viewers for prolonging the storyline of Dr. Ji and Lee Tae-ooh. Maybe it will be clear in the next season. Also, I think the storyline of Lee Joon- Young needs to be expanded because he doesn't talk much. He says one or two words and then runs to his room. Most of his scenes where his talking it's all about the divorce of his parents. In the next season, as a teenager, I'm hoping to see him dating and learning to live his life without being unnecessarily dragged all the time into his parent's mess. All in all, the film was great and I enjoyed it.
