Captain Marvel is a must see for any fan of the MCU. It is of course an origin story but it is a pretty unconventional one that will surprise anyone who hasn’t read the comics. It’s a very important movie of course being Marvel’s first female led movie but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that it is a very compelling story. Brie Larson’s personality shines through in her portrayal of Carol Danvers and Samuel L Jackson is at his best as a CGI-rendered, young Nick Fury. I can’t recomend this movie enough. 5/5

I almost disliked this movie but I truly didn’t hate it. It’s incredibly predictable but the acting is great and the visual effects and cinematography are next level. A large part of the movie is pretty dull overall but the action scenes are captivating enough to distract from the basic, ordinary plot line. It’s probably the second best DCEU movie after Wonder Woman but that’s a very low bar.
