Maybe it's because I read Nietzche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra first, so I found Kundera's insight in this novel quite matter-of-fact. So, there weren't too much surprises for me. But it was definitely thought-provoking with some insights from a different perspective! The notion that some people live their lives light as a feather while some live their lives as if being bogged down by a heavy stone, is rarely written of.
