The story was good, the casting was great, the place was terrific and Bly was beautiful as hell, BUT, where was all the horror, spookiness we had in 'The Haunting of Hill House'? I mean, I love Hill House and I have watched that several times, and each time it's spookiness just doesn't fades away. Hill House is incomparable, maybe that is why I'm really a bit disappointed after watching 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'. My hopes were too high after Hill House, I swear I love Hill House, it's spookiness is just outstanding as hell but there was no such thing in Bly Manor. The only spooky thing in Bly Manor was Henry's alter ego's grin. That's all. Also, when Viola, lady of the lake, her face gets faded away, we can clearly tell that the actor playing lady of the lake after the face fades away isn't Kate Seigel, I was very disappointed on that. Other than that, little Flora's acting was perfectly splendid! And also Miles. But the way Hill House matched the face structures of the Crain children to the adult ones, that wasn't seen in Bly thou.
You could give it a try, if you want, it's a pretty good story, but it's not that scary. Maybe I just had my expectations just too high, everyone would after watching Hill House, but give it a try, just don't expect it to be too scary.
