Spoiler Alert— Whoever put the trailer together did a great job because they made it seem this movie would amount to being a great horror flick. But holy moly the trailer was the ONLY good thing about the movie. The movie was just awful. Lee, the main character was VERY annoying with her heavy breathing it was just too distracting. Her timid, zoning out was too much and how did she even get through FBI training when she’s afraid of her own shadow? Her decision making, or lack thereof was absurd. Overall, she had ZERO depth and was incredibly boring-incredibly! The character of Longlegs could have been creepy but was seriously so ridiculous and WAY overacted! What’s with the singing and super white face?? (Insert eye-roll) Zero character development. Then when you thought there was a chance you’d learn about Longleg’s character, nope- nothing….just BORING! I found it very annoying also how the majority of the movie they put one character at a time in each frame at the same distance …..right smack dab in the middle…..zoom out occasionally please. Hard to explain but it drove me bonkers. The movie was so predictable and also so fricking “out there” I just wanted to poke my eyes out with forks to stop watching the nonsense but like a train wreck, I couldn’t look away. Longlegs is nowhere near “instant cult classic”. So tired of new movies being so artsy fartsy. Have you ever watched a movie where they try too hard!?! This isn’t anywhere close to being in the same category of movie greats like “The Silence of the Lambs”. And who wrote the screenplay? Blah blah blah. Longlegs is boring, predictable, ridiculous, annoying and the list goes on. The morgue scene was probably the most laughable in my opinion. In what world would a doll go to a morgue? I actually laughed out loud at the dialogue during that scene. Insert MAJOR eye-roll. And let’s not forget the scene in the bedroom….are they implying the cat was left in a pet carrier for a month and it’s still alive? Also, how does it go from being the middle of the night to daytime so quickly? Just so much was off in this movie….. I found it to be very disappointing….. really was hoping for something good.
