I have been listening to this album on a regular basis since the day it was released. The musicianship is off the charts even by todays standards. The storyline is in such detail and presented in such a way that it literally can have you imagining yourself on the streets and living in those very moments. It is in my opinion the best concept album/rock opera ever written and leaves other great works such as 2112 by rush and The Wall from Pink Floyd in second place. Dont misunderstand me here. Those other albums were also absolute works of art. But in my mind, the realism and the state of the world at that time is brought out in every way and in stunning if not all to real and gruesome detail. This album in my humble opinion is one that should be required listening by anyone who is a heavy metal fan. I recommend this as required listening.
