Clever elements including nods to horror films both cult and mainstream as well as global horror literature/cultural history (some even humorous), but far too self-aware from the beginning starting with the immediately over the top score. Explanation by main doppelganger of the antagonists' plot is beyond belief and not in a good way. The only thing horrifying here is the complete void where subtlety should be in establishing fear in the audience.
