at first I thought this book was going to be about a witch that changes men into animals and creates war between the gods. I was completely wrong. I cried when I found out about Daedalus’ son Icarus drowning. other than that, this book gave me a sense of impowerment...? a feeling that I cannot really describe. I love Circe and now I feel like i’ll be connected to her forever. her passion and drive never went blank. I guess what I brought away from this story is that honestly what we all have in common is our death. and it’s okay for life to be simple and to be a “no one.” you find great strength in it. it’s okay to let the people you love go. it’s okay to be yourself and not have a “godhead.”
may not be what she was trying to give people but that’s what I retained from it.
