I was deeply let down by Remnant II's structure. The main storyline ends with a jarring lack of resolution, and the game's progression systems felt undermined. Even on Veteran difficulty, I never needed to fully engage with the skill or weapon upgrade mechanics to finish the campaign, which left me feeling my efforts were pointless.
This feeling of an incomplete experience is amplified by the DLC strategy. Releasing three expansions that revisit the base game's worlds (Losomn, Yaesha, N'Erud) to add crucial story context and archetypes suggests that the core game was a fragmented framework, with significant content deliberately segmented for later sale. This approach devalues the initial purchase.
