I thought it was a typical stalker movie at first. However, after watching it all in one day... I realized that it's more than just a guy obsessing about a girl. The show depicts love in many ways... Penn Badgley's character has many faces and he shows the different kinds of love. I don't want to say much but his character is someone that you both may or may not love. It's well written and deep and also portrays reality or what is happening in the world today. Social media- how people can use it to live a superficial life and how some can use it to know more about a person. I liked it because even at the height of Penn or Joe's obsession, he still had goodness left in his heart. Although some of his actions are extreme and goes beyond what love is, it still shows what people want. And that is to be loved in return.
