marred by stereotypes, 2nd rate/ jarring/ impossible CGI images, muddled relationships, unclear resolutions to conflict. Not an awful movie but as a mudslide overtakes the interior of the hotel, it seemed 2 dimensional, unconvincing and almost 20th century. "I'm this guy! No, I'm just posing, I'm the creepy bad guy! OK I'm the good guy after all!" OH PLEASE!
The idea of the creepy hotel is always worth trotting out as is the back story, but the execution left me cold. As did the character of the arch villainess.
