Though the film has a slow pace and unusual plot devices at times, I believe that the film is a good one. Michelle Pfeiffer's performance gave me bittersweet feelings about socialite Frances Price, and perhaps that was intended. The Parisian backdrop always adds that certain charm to virtually any film. All in all, I felt as though I was watching the end of a bright star as it slowly faded into the black nothing, and I was able to let Frances go by the end.
WARNING: If you're looking for a film that doesn't require any mindfulness to watch, this isn't it.
