In my opinion it's different and interesting. You need to watch the entire 1st episode to get sucked in but it's an enjoyable ride. I wouldn't say it's one of the best things I have ever seen but I thoroughly enjoyed binge watching the entire thing. There are some things I thought could have been better like some of the later future actors and scenes. Glad we created it in this neck of the woods though and not another country. However I really wish the last scene didn't exist. Last 10 seconds disappointed me. It would have been better without it. Still worth watching though. Better than a lot of shows out there.
