A monumental insult to the audience by the makers of this film.
If the writing was genuine, challenging and historically accurate, the discourse would be welcomed. But, the writing was terrible: there was no convincing challenge to the central character, and the was very heavy-handed and clumsy. The film serves as a medium for promoting anachronistic ideas of gender and society. Worst of all, it did not allow for the audience to decide for themselves the significance of the message of the film, rather it seemed to do the thinking for the audience--evidently, the makers of the film hold the viewers to such a low-regard.
