So you've googled Last of Us 2. And you've seen the overwhelmingly negative reviews, and gone, whoooaa what happened!? We all have the right to an opinion, so I'm going to give you mine.
I am just as big a fan of the first as anyone else. I've been a gamer forever on every console you can name since the mid 80's. And I think this game is great.
Ok, so the little points. Game play feels amazing. Graphics are out of this world. But we all know that.
Is the story as good as the first? Maybe, maybe not. But the trash talk from keyboard warriors all over the internet, I mean come on. It's a sequel, it's not supposed to be as good as the first for story, nothing is as shocking. But it's dark. And it can hook you if you let it. My personal opinion is everyone went in with the highest expectations because of the hype, the long wait, and of course all the drama from Naughty Dog and such. If it's not a 10/10, it's a 1/10.
If you want to see better games, become a game designer. Just because you have the right to an opinion doesn't mean it has any value.
I believe the game deserves a solid 7/10. Is it the best game I've ever played in my life? Not even close. Did I put down the controller at the end of the game (30 hours give or take) and feel good about the journey? Definitely.
