As an interior design / thrifting fanatic, I wanted to like this so bad.
I could get past the voices, but the designs looked way too millennial Instagram from like 5 years ago. Every teenage / young woman “trend” over the past few years was showcased: plants, blush, neon signs, monochrome, rattan - you name it, it’s there.
I was weirdly angry watching it because I just wanted something inspirational and innovative. The rooms did not seem functional either. A photo leaning against a headboard??? In a motel??? They seemed to focus more on vapid aesthetic than anything else.
The concept is great and I wish these two well, regardless of my opinion. It seems to be working for them and that’s all that really matters I guess.
