A masterpiece, in my opinion. Palahniuk may have topped his previous efforts in terms of shock value, and many readers will find some ideas contained in this book unacceptable. The level of graphic violence, depraved sexuality and cruelly twisted, bitter humor it consists of seems way past just anybody's comfort zone. Yet, on my way through, I had a growing conviction of reading a highly empathetic, insightful, and mature piece of literature. In the end, it turned out deeply moving and resonant, a rich, multilayered tale about being a human in the present reality. Considering the topics it's nothing short of genius.
