The book was very slow, nothing really happened until around page 140-160, we got a small amount of plot but not much. I didn’t care for how the book summary said Corinne fell in love with Maggie’s ex, which is inherently not wrong but it felt like more of an attention pull and misleading. The book almost makes you hate the main character while also making you hate the people she “hurt.” This story weirdly portrays not coming out when your partner is ready as damaging and hurtful, Corinne was scared which is understandable because they’re in the south, but the whole time she’s made out to be a horrible person because of it. On top of it all the book was very repetitive, the author kept overusing the statements where Corinne had an opportunity to come out or tell someone about Maggie; the author would always write something along the lines of “And I could tell her right now, I could tell her I’m bisexual and about Maggie and about all of it.” It became very annoying and over used. In summary, if someone asked me if this book was worth their time I would tell them no. It’s not even a bored read because it does nothing to cure boredom. Not worth it, you aren’t missing out on anything special.
